Grade 6: Salary in the range £26,527 - £28,972 p.a. (pro rata)

The Centre on Migration, Policy and society (COMPAS) is seeking to appoint a research assistant on a part-time (0.3 FTE), fixed-term basis for 10 months, based on the Banbury Road. WORK-INT is a research and advocacy project funded by the European Integration Fund led by the Forum of International and European Research on Immigration (FIERI) and involves five European cities including Oxford. The main aim of this project at COMPAS is to better understand and improve workplace integration of third country national migrant workers in the UK. The research assistant position will be to plan and co-ordinate semi structured interviews, ethnographic case studies in two health sector workplaces and national forums with national and local stakeholders. Significant contribution from you will include undertaking the ethnographic phase of the project in collaboration with the principal investigator, contributing to designing research materials, organising transcription and maintaining the UK project website.

You will be expected to have relevant academic qualifications and transferrable research experience. You should have experience in qualitative methodologies, be familiar with academic and policy debates on migrant integration. You must have excellent organisational, computer and administration skills. You need to have the ability to provide administrative support to the research team. Familiarity with labour market and healthcare structures in the UK is desirable.
