Applications are invited for a Departmental Lectureship in Social Anthropology, with special reference to West Africa effective from 1 September 2014, tenable until 31 July 2015. The post is based at the School of Anthropology, Banbury Road, Oxford.

The primary function of this post is to deliver teaching, marking and supervision for the graduate programmes in social anthropology particularly concentrating on the anthropology of West Africa.

You will possess a doctorate in a relevant field or evidence that a doctorate thesis will be submitted by the starting date of the post; a track record of research of international quality, including evidence of the capacity to publish in international journals with major presses; the ability to teach graduate students of high calibre, and to carry out student assessment, and teaching experience in relevant fields.
